Paper Artsy challenge Bottles

Hi everyone hope you are all OK and  doing a lot of crafty things
I haven't had time to make a new bottle for this challenge
but still had this one that I made a while ago.

I wanted to take part in the Paper Artsy challenge as I want to do more
of these bottles just need lots of hours.

I created this bottle from an old Sambuca bottle that my son
had  picked up on holiday.

I covered the bottle in gesso then applied alcohol inks
in terracotta and denim.

I used film clay and stamped into this then moulded it round
the bottle. Which I then baked in an oven
on a very low setting.

I then finished of with treasure gold.
I hope you like it for those of you who have not seen this before.
Please feel free to let me know what you think.

Eyes Tested

Hi everyone hope you are all well its time to play over at SanDee &Amelie's
Steampunk challenge,

This months the theme is eye's tested although you would need your
eye's tested if you think you will be able to see
through my glasses!!

The base is a pair of my son's sunglasses that I covered over with my
home made leather.

Various clock and compasses were stamped on distress coloured card
& used for each lens then cogs and wings
attached.

I Attached a glass fuse across the nose with wire.

Die cut card and coloured it so that it looked like the patina from rust.

It is amazing what you can create when you put your mind to it I nearly gave
up with this but my husband and son wouldn't let me.

I am glad I didn't please let me know what you think?

May's Challenge over at the Artistic Stamper.

Hi everyone I hope you are all well in here in crafty land.
I have my first ever journal page for you.

Jennie asked us over at the Artistic stamper to create a journal page
this is not something I have ever done before as Off I went!!!

I used Ariondack colour wash sprays mine are very old and they have
changed the names of the colours but I used butterscotch which
they still do, Denim and Currant (Cranberry Color Wash).

I had painted the page with a cream chalk finish acrylic paint.
then used the colour wash sprays. I used the three colours
then sprayed with water and heat set.

I applied ultra mat medium over the top. I put clear texture paste through
the Artistic Stamper Swirls stencil.

The clock face was covered in crackle accents.

I used the various stamps with white acrylic paint and stazon black.

I coloured some white card with distress stain sprays rusty hinge
chipped Sapphire and red brick.

I stamped the butterfly of the insects plate numerous times
then heat embossed it.

I attached beads and sequins to the body's of the butterfly's.

I cut them out and fixed them to the page.

I wrote a few words here and there using a black gel pen.

The Artistic Stamper Stamp's and stencils that I used.
  1. Neil Walker, Alphabet Soup.
  2. Insects and Butterflies the main butterfly.
  3. Calligraphic mat 12
  4. Background Stamps Trellis & C75 Lace
  5. The small clock face off Time and keys plate.
  6. New Artistic Stamper Mask's Swirl & Splats and swirls.
I hope you have enjoyed reading about how I created my first journal page as much as I have enjoyed making it. As always let me know what you think.

Deco Art & A Steam Punk Heart

Hi every one! I hope you are OK and enjoying the lovely sunshine
if you reside in the south of England
it seems like so long ago that it made an appearance.

Since doing my Andy Skinner online workshop I have wanted to have
a play, & put my own slant on what I learnt which was amazing.

I used the amazing Deco art products which are just divine and I just keep
learning more & more about them.

Anyone who knows my work knows that I am just addicted to texture and layers
so the media line just lends itself perfectly to it. The textures and mediums
 I am still learning about.

This was created using a beer mat that I covered in Media Gesso, Media texture
crackle paste. I pushed micro beads and glass glitter into the wet crackle paste
and allowed to dry in the sun.

I used washes of Naphithol red, Burnt Umber, Quinacridone Gold
& Prussian blue.

I used gold gilding wax to highlight the texture. The heart was painted with
a cream acrylic stamped with Artistic Stamper lace stamp.

A bit of distress inks Walnut stain and Black Soot around the edges.

A bit of rusty wire wrapped round the heart some die cut cogs
given a patina rust treatment.

Voila! all sealed with Deco Art Media ultra matt varnish.
hope you all enjoyed reading this posts much as I have creating it.
be sure to check out the Deco art Media range.
Let me know what you think.

Deco Art and Finnabair Stamp

Hi everyone I hope you are all well and enjoying the weekend.
I have been having lots of plays with my lovely Deco Art
products and watching a lot of Andy Skinner tutorials!

I also was finishing my next project for
SanDee & amelie's steampunk challenges.

I know what has Andy got to do with Finnabair. Just that once I had finished with that
and all my lovely rusty bits and pieces, I thought i would use
the Deco art products with the stamp.

More rusty pieces my copy of Andy's example on you tube.

I had this stamp on my craft desk.

Some lovely Deco Art texture paste.

Some washes with  Deco Art Prussian Blue, Grey 3,
quinacrine Gold, gold, micro beads, glass glitter,
& black antiquing cream.

I have really enjoyed my days play it has been quite a varied day.
I hope you all enjoy looking at what I have created.
Let me know what you think.

Raise The Curtains!

Hi everyone hope you are all well! The challenge this month over at SASPC
is Raise the curtains! why not pop over and join in the challenge.
I have never tried anything like this before I had an idea
and tried it out but wasn't happy.

Then I put the lady in her undergarments beneath the curtain
and it made it stand out.

Where as before the curtains got lost
in the background.

I used a lot of Tim's classics Stamps  & the lady is an Indigo Blue Stamp.

I started with a very neutral base of pumice stone & frayed burlap distress stain
swiped on a craft mat and water sprayed white card swiped through it.
Once dry I stamped the script onto the card with black Archival ink.

I used a torn bit of an old tag to add texture & interest to the base card.

The compass is an indigo blue stamp and the one under it is a Tim Holtz stamp.

With the curtain I made it out of tissue paper that I had sprayed with distress Stains
in iced spruce and frayed burlap.

I hooked it back with a cog and arranged the folds. It was then
 rubbed with treasure gold.

The permit of the curtains is lace that i had swiped with distress stains but it was quite pale
so I then used Deco Art Media paint in Raw Umber and a touch of turquoise.
This was then rubbed with treasure gold.

The indigo Blue stamp was then stamped onto black card with versa fine black
and clear embossed. Rubbed gently with treasure gold and the face and arms
painted with perfect pearls and water. Then it was wiped back.

I hope you all enjoyed my post although I did go round the houses to get
there. I Would love to hear what you think & don't forget to join in
over at SASPC.
