Hi everyone I have been UBER excited about taking part in the 3UP@ Paper Artsy.
Our colour theme was A:- stone, concrete, slate & green lichen (hey pesto with
touch of limelight) My Theme is:-Shiny Things
The colours were what dictated my project as they conjured up stone walls, crypts &
old iconic things, moss, old buildings etc. "Weird! I know, what can I say" personally I
blame my parents.
So I used a Tim die to cut the top and bottom pieces, I used Grunge paste through a stencil to
the main body of the piece, once it had been painted using a brayer & the paint
from my colour pallet omitting the green.
I cut out an arch and painted it with both stone and concrete.
I then used Lynne Perrella LPC028 main image and stamped in watering can
archival ink. Next I sanded the image back so it looked faint and weathered.
I applied Vaseline to the parts of the image that I wanted to show through &
then painted over it in a mix of Hey pesto & limelight.
I knocked back the paint once it was dry and reapplied Vaseline where I wanted the
Lichen to show through. I then painted it all with slate and allowed to dry
before knocking back. I applied crackle paste around the entire arch
& allowed to dry before painting with slate.
The top and bottom plinths were painted with slate then dry brushed slightly
with green. I rubbed slate over the stencilled areas with my finger and then used
hey pesto over the whole piece. This was then highlighted with treasure gold
to turn - shiny.
A few crystals were attached and golden rain done with a glue gun - see
here to take you to the link for how to make it. I hope you have all
enjoyed reading about it as much as I have taking part.
Let me know what you think!
Cheers Dee x
