Junes post over at SASPC

Hi everyone I have a post for you today which was
inspired by the work of Seth Apter.
I used a mix of chalky finish paints from Deco art and
different pastes stencils etc.
Old pieces of art work that was lying on my desk became
part of the layout.
I used a couple of his stamps which i love but haven't
had time to play with properly.
Carabelle Studio XL Mask - Chiffres & deco art's black
modelling paste .
I made a little pocket to pop a couple of tags in that are
very grungy and can be pulled out to jot notes on.
Some old texture fades pieces that were lying on my desk.
Again one of my favourite stamps a clock face.
I really enjoyed making this piece and building up the
layers.
A close up.

That's it for today thank you for poping by and
don't forget to join in with us and have
a chance to win amazing goodies.

I am proud to be a member of Sandee & amelie's design team.

Anything Goes over at SASPC May challenge

I have a media board for you today as my inspiration
for this months challenge.
I started with home made tissue paper which I made by
stamping directly onto plain tissue paper with black
Stazon ink with various stamps.
next I glued this onto the media board with Deco Art Matt Medium
which was followed with DA modelling paste put through
a distressed harlequin stencil (Tando mini's)
I used a watery wash of DA Gesso once dry follow
with a second coat.

Next came water colour in greens and greys apply them
very watery and dry between coats. Once happy
I attached my triple embossed heart and crackle
paste.
Lastly a trickle of Deco Art crackle glaze with a little green
mixed in was applied to the top of the media board.
At the bottom I typed the word ART & mat it
onto black card.
I am proud to be a member of Sandee & amelie's design team.
I hope that I have inspired you today and that you will
come and play along with us today.
Cheers Dee x

January Catty Pink your life Whisper friends

Hi Everyone I have a project for you that I did for the
 Stampendous's  January Catalog.
I Started with cutting the plaque from the foam board what
I would say is I would use Tando substrate next time as it
doesn't buckle although this effect did add to the piece in
the end. Crackle paste was used around the edges with
a palette knife.
I then painted the board with gesso followed by the crackle paint.
this was followed by the Prussian blue hue, along with titan buff,
&  phathio turquoise. This was randomly applied along with the
wax I kept knocking it back until I was happy with the result.
A final wash of quinacridone gold pains grey and ultra matt
medium (Andy Skinners dirty wash) was put over the top to
age it all. Translucent paste was put through the Picasso
tool and sprinkled with chunky gold embossing
powder, and heat set.
The pink your life people, houses and mushrooms were
stamped onto black card then clear embossed and
coloured in using the prisma pencils.
These were all attached to the plaque so that they stand
slightly proud not flat against it.

Products used

  1. Stampendous products used :- Pink Your life stamps used were Mushroom rubber stamp,Whisper friendship rubber stamp, Whisper houses clear stamp. Picasso shield/stencil tool Dream weaver translucent paste, & crackle paste, dream weaver palette knife, Gold chunky & clear embossing powder
  2. Deco Art:- Media white gesso, Crackle paint, acrylic paint in the following colours Prussian blue hue, Colbolt turquoise, Quinacridone  Gold, Paynes gray,  titan buff, white tinting base, ultra matt varnish.
  3. Prisma colour pencils along with Sansador and paper stubb, Foam board A4 sheet cut 1/3 of the bottom cut to make the plaque, hair wax, mod rock, and some gold handmade paper & black card.

SASPC Aprils challenge

Hi everyone I have for you today a piece of steampunk
art that I did for a retreat weekend at (MOM)
Ministry Of Mixology
As you all know I love my Steampunk and I love
Deco Art products.
So I used my Steampumpkin stamp from Stampendous
to stamp into my gold embossing powder.
The tag was gessoed with black gesso followed by
crackle paint.
The edges of the Tando tag were scraped with texture
Sand paste.
Distressed harlequin stencil and modelling paste were
used along the left hand side of the tag.
Washes were used to age it all with burnt umber and
Quinacridone gold really watery
The wings were made from paper clay and a mould
then painted gold and patina antiquing cream
applied and knocked back.
Various embellishments from my stash were used to
finish off the piece.
Same stamp and technique different shaped
heart.
I really hope you all enjoyed my tag for you today
and hope that you all have a great Easter.
Please feel free to ask any questions and
let me know what you think.
Kind regards Dee X
