ATC Box for Andy Skinner DT

Hi everyone Dee here with this lovely ATC box from Creative Expressions I decorated it using Andy Skinners new pastes and paints from Creative Expressions. I really enjoyed this project as it developed itself like most of my pieces, I was really happy with the results.

Firstly I glued together the ATC Box from Creative Expressions.  I used Andy's stencil cogged up by Creative Expressions I put Andy's structure paste through it onto the ATC box. I also used strata paste and a smigin of lava paste. A quick coat of Gesso.

I heat set everything with my heat gun watched the lava paste expand. I then started with my washes. of colours. Raw umber dry, `Paynes Grey, Cobalt teal dry, very watery wash of Andy's new ocean matt paint.

I went back in with quinacridone gold in areas as it then looks like rust. a sprinkle of cold patina and heat set to add to the weathered look see pic below.

The above pic also shows the lava paste coloured with quinacridone gold.

I added little gems that i had coloured with Andy's Prussian blue pigment paint.

You can just see the ATC that I did poking out of the box.

Here is a close up showing the Cosmic Shimmer lustre Polish Glistening gold was used to accentuate the structure.

A close up off the embossing enamel.

ATC was decorated in the same way as the box.
I hope you like my box as much as i enjoyed making it for you.

Isolation Redrum

Hi everyone just a quick note 2020 hasn't been any better than 2019 but this time the whole country is involved. My mum died last week and unfortunately I am one of the venerable so I am unable to go to her funeral as I am currently in isolation for the next 12 weeks. I hope all you lovely peeps are well and like me taking to your craft rooms and crafting like crazy.

So I ordered these lovely stamps made by# kazercraft, I love them they match my mood brilliantly so to tone it down I used 3 colours from the # Decoart range and the tinting base to paint these pages. Using stamps from the Artistic Stamper I decorated and stamped my way over the 2 pages. Any of you fans of the shinning well i named this after that as i have been indoors for a while now as my husband wouldn't let me out before the NHS told me to stay in. Going a bit stir crazy!!!
Here follows some close ups but love this way of painting its so soothing and relaxing compared to my normal style.

I hope you enjoyed the post minus the neg vibe. Keep safe and thanks for popping by,
Cheers Dee x

Post for Tando Layers

Hi everyone Dee here with a post for Tando Creative this weeks theme is layers.
I have created this #Tando tag using layers of paint along with layers of paper &
pastes. Then layering up the elements.

Firstly I started with a grey board tag from Tando which I covered with cut up paper to
create texture. Some of this paper was embossed to give a deeper depth to the tag.
Next came the #Deco Art mediums & pastes sand crackle and modelling paste
was all used.

I allowed this to dry overnight which allows everything to dry out fully. I started with a
fabulous Sapphire blue from #Deco Art Traditions artist acrylics. I sprayed the tag with water and
just added with the tip go my paintbrush this was followed by #Deco Art Media Paynes grey,
then raw umber.

The stamp I used was a stamp by #Carabello Studio this was painted with media paints
the heart was given a glaze.

The stars are moulds you have to be careful as the ends tend to break off but I thought it looked distressed so thats what I am going with. Rusty wire was from #Hannah Oxberry. Thats it
from me feel free to leave a comment or ask a question or give it a go and
let us see it on facebook. Cheers Dee x

For a Very Special Person

My baby Sean is 26 today and over the last year he has been a massive support to me he has been by my side through everything all the hospital visits including stays. He has travelled up to Kings everyday to see me and hug me when I was scared would always make me laugh when I wobbled.
I am so very lucky to have such a fantastic family each and everyone of them have been amazing.

So for his birthday my husband and I found a really funny card that was very apt could I find it I put it away somewhere so safe I have no recollection of where!

So at 5AM when sleep was eluding me up I got and made him this card with a Seth Apter stencil.

A few sprinkles of infusions and bister and we are ready to go.

Sundial over on Tando creative

Hi everyone Dee here with  my decorated sundial designed by Fiona Randal. I love this it is
such lovely set. I started by making the sundial bit first I had decided that I would emboss it so that it looked like metal. I triple embossed to give it a beaten metal feel.

I used Deco art paint to add colour to the embossed dial i used fluid acrylic in Prussian Blue Hue, Transparent Yellow Iron Oxide, Quinacridone gold. I used antiquing cream in Patina & Black alongside the fluid acrylic.

I started with gluing it all together then painting the entire piece with Deco art black gesso mixed with Raw Umber Premium acrylic.

Next I applied Deco Art Crackle paint i allowed it to dry naturally I had also put Deco art texture sand paste on the base and on the top of the sun Dial.

I painted the base of the sundial plate with media fluid acrylic silver paint then watery washes of Raw Umber Prusian Blue, Transparent yellow Iron Oxide, Quinacridone gold. I used a sponge to apply versa fine ink in patches and sprinkled on chunky silver embossing powders. I painted patina antiquing cream into the arms of the star this was then filled with crackle graze.

Washes of Raw Umber see above were applied also quinacridone gold to rust it up and patches of Raw Umber were applied where I had used Andy Skinners resist paste.

I used Antonis Tzanidakis - Mechanical Fantasy to help decorate the base of the dial which I have decorated with washes of raw umber along with Transparent iron oxide and some quinacridone gold.
Butterfly were used to give a slightly different slant to it.

I hope you have enjoyed reading about how I created the sundial as much as I have enjoyed making it. Please feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think.
Cheers Dee x

This kit is being shown on Hochanda today

Creepy and Spooky over at Tando Creative

Hi everyone Dee here with my post for Spooky and Creepy I wasn't sure what to do for this `i have some amazing stamps and I wanted to do a folder that I have from Tando with lovely pages in unfortunately had to take mum to hospital so didn't have time in the end so I have done this tag.

I used a Tango tag, Tando's mini Flourish stencil and Extra thins Harlequin. I used modelling paste through the stencil to the top left and bottom right of the tag. On the opposite sides I glued the Tando Harlequin's extra thins.

I stamped the Tim holtz skull from his life of the party set along with the compass from indigo blue and the butterfly onto paper I then cut them out. I coated the tag with # Deco art chalk paint in whisper.

Next i glued the stamped images onto the tag then I used crackle paste around the skull and the edges of the tag and allowed to dry. I also used the crackle paste through my old spider stencil as I love him.

I dry brushed colours onto the tag I used raw umber fluid acrylic on the Deco art crackle paste and the followed by black antiquing cream. I used ultra matt varnish on the skull and the compass so that they would not absorb any other colours and if they did I could knock them back. Next I used artisan powders and quinacridone gold I dry brushed with them till I was happy

I hope you have all enjoyed my project please feel free to let me know what you think.
Cheers Dee x
