Tic Tac Toe Over at SASPC

Words/Stencils/The Sea and a few more see the bottom of this post for the
details and the link. I started this off by playing with
Bistre god I love this stuff!! a pressi from my son.
Once I had activated the Bistre with water, I  used Deco Art media line
white crackle paint.
Washes with Phthalo Tourquoise and Quinacridone Gold
& Deco art Ultra-Matt Varnish to seal.
Tripple embossed the fish (Paper artsy mini's) with pewter embossing
powder the a couple of washes with Deco Arts fluid acrylics
 Quinacridone Gold & Phthalo Turquoise.
Deco Art media crackle paste around the edges.
The circles were done with Finnabair 3D gloss gel and her bubbles stencils,
little watch parts were dropped into some of the circles before they dried.
The steampunk sign was done using a lolly stick and a garden plant
label. The stamp used is an art journey stamp.
I am not sure if you can see the crackle paint here in-between the bubbles.
Fran-tage embossing powder was sprinkled across and
heat set from underneath.
The white bubbles is a lost coast stamp and I embossed that in
white embossing powder. and highlighted the bubbles with
Deco art's liquid glass.
That's it folk's I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I have making it.
don't forget pop over to SASPC and join in with us the

The Ravages of Time

Hi everyone I have a wall plaque for you today that I made out of foam board.
It is mid month reminder time over at SASPC this
months challenge is Ravages of Time.

If you have never tried to do steam punk why not give it a go. I started by using
some grunge board that I had tried to die cut with a cog die but was it was
to thick so it left a lovely imprint of the cogs.

I then used a Tim Holtz die to cut out the houses. I used Deco Art media line
paints, textures & varnishes, to colour them. The above house was scraped with
texture sand paste once dry it was coloured with
media fluid acrylic in cobalt turquoise and two coats of
Andy's dirty wash.

unfortunately I can't tell you how i made the base of the house above
but if you would like to learn Andy Skinner Timeworn
on line coarse shows you how.

This is done using the same process. paints used were Quinacridone Gold
covered with burnt umber, & slight touches of cobalt turquoise.

Americana burnt orange was painted onto white card that had been screwed up
& the time stencil was added with media modelling paste.
Three coats of Andy's dirty wash was used over the
top to age it. Andy's industrial stamps were
stamped in black stazon to age it further.

Close up of the cog impressed grunge board.

Another close up.

Deco art media crackle paste was used to frame the houses.

Once dry it was painted with Phthalo turquoise &
treasure gold was used to highlight the uneven area's.

Home made clock embellishments and cogs were used to decorate
and enhance the plaque.

That's all folks please let me know what you think as I really
enjoy hearing what you have to say and it inspires
me to keep trying.

Don't forget why not join in don't let the words steam punk put you off our very
talented team offer a real variety of steam punk.  Lot's of the teams work  is very elegant &
you never know
you might end up winning some lovely goodies!!!!
See you over at SASPC

June Challenge over at The Artistic Stamper

Hi everyone its time to play over at The Artistic Stamper
This months challenge is Summer is coming.

I have used Neil Walkers Fantasy background and border stamp,
The new dragonfly stamp & the new petal masks.

I used Fresco finish paint in Beach Hut, Pea Coat, Inky Pool,
Limelight & snowflake for the base. I had stamped
The fantasy plate onto distress mop up card
with chipped sapphire DI.

I tore strips of the mop up card then stuck to the base and then
Grunge paste was put through the petal mask and
crackle paste was put round the edges &
painted when dry with fresco paint.

The fantasy border stamp was stamped onto the base board in chipped
Sapphire DI and gold embossed.

gold gilding wax was used to highlight the petals and
crackle paste.

The dragonfly was stamped in Bora Bora & Limelight fresco paint
and clear embossed while still wet.
This then got a coat of Smoked Paprika and London Bus.
cog die cut's and sequins completed the look.

I layered it all onto blue then black embossed card that was highlighted
with gold gilding wax.
I hope you all enjoyed my post be sure to join in with us over at the Artistic Stamper
where you have a brilliant chance to win Artistic Stamper stamps.
Let me know what you think.

Paper Artsy challenge Bottles

Hi everyone hope you are all OK and  doing a lot of crafty things
I haven't had time to make a new bottle for this challenge
but still had this one that I made a while ago.

I wanted to take part in the Paper Artsy challenge as I want to do more
of these bottles just need lots of hours.

I created this bottle from an old Sambuca bottle that my son
had  picked up on holiday.

I covered the bottle in gesso then applied alcohol inks
in terracotta and denim.

I used film clay and stamped into this then moulded it round
the bottle. Which I then baked in an oven
on a very low setting.

I then finished of with treasure gold.
I hope you like it for those of you who have not seen this before.
Please feel free to let me know what you think.
